Vivian James

Biography

Vivian obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in 1988 in Political Science and Public Administration. She then obtained her Law degree in 1991 from the University of Buckingham. In 1993 she was admitted as a Solicitor in England and Wales after attending the College of Law in Guildford. She worked at the Solihull Magistrates Court until she moved to Canada in 1996.

In 1998, having obtained Canadian Accreditation of her British legal qualifications and experience, Vivian went on to become the first female of African heritage to be admitted to the Bar of Saskatchewan. She relocated with her family to Ontario in 2001 and practiced in the Brantford area until 2011 when she moved her practice to Oakville. She was a founding member of the Brant, Haldimand, Norfolk Collaborative Law Association and is trained in Family Law Arbitration.

She is a member of several community organisations. She enjoys reading, exploring and travelling.
